Due to the release of the WatchOS 7 update for the Apple Watch, it has become more than just a digital watch with the newly introduced features. It has added new features such as sleep tracking and you can even use it as a walkie talkie. However, so many unnecessary installed apps or other features can be overwhelming. Therefore, you need to change the following six settings right now in your new Apple Watch.
Adjust Activity Goals
Before Apple Watch only has an option of setting the Move or calories goal but now with the new WatchOS 7 update, you can set goals for the time you stand and exercise. Instead of using the default setting, 30 minutes of exercise, and 12 hours standing, you can change it to more suitable according to your routine.
This small change makes an actual difference when each day you start and spend your day according to your targets. It allows you to start your day and spend according to what you like instead of Watch telling you what to do and when to do it.
To set the activity goals, go to the Activity app on your Apple Watch and scroll down to Edit Goals. Make adjustments as you like for all three metrics and close those activity rings.
Disable random Screenshots
You can take screenshots by simply pressing down the crown and side button of the Apple Watch and most of the time it makes you take random screenshots accidentally, cluttering your gallery. You can turn this feature off if you do not need it and save yourself from unnecessary screenshots. To disable this feature, go to the Settings on your Apple Watch or iPhone. Then open General, scroll down to Enable Screenshots, and turn it off.
Disable automatic app installation
You do not need every app in your Apple Watch and you need to disable the automatic app installation option in your watch. Whenever you install an app on your iPhone, it also installs a counterpart in your Apple Watch which makes it crowded and hard to find the app you actually need on the go. To turn off the feature on your Apple Watch, go to Settings > General > Automatic app Install. Slide the switch to the off position and it will disable the automatic installation.
Easy layout for apps
The default layout of the apps on Apple Watch does not work for everyone and therefore you need to arrange them in a manner that makes it easy to access frequent apps. The honeycomb grid layout of apps looks great but isn’t easy to use as the list view grid.
If you have a lot of apps installed on your Apple Watch then going through them can be quite a hassle with a honeycomb grid and one wrong touch launches an app that you were not intended to open. You can set your layout in ListView and it will arrange all the apps in alphabetical order for easy to find and click. To set the layout, go to Setting > App View > List View. Now simply press the Digital Crown and you will see all the apps in a list and scroll easily to open the app you want.
Control Siri activation
You can easily access Siri on your Apple Watch by long-pressing the Digital Crown, or by bringing the wrist close to your mouth and just start talking, or just saying the phrase “Hey Siri”. However, sometimes it can be annoying because Siri answers you when you are talking to someone else about something and checking your watch at the same time.
If it frequently bothers you or you have got the new Apple Watch, set the action to control when to activate Siri. on your Apple Watch, go to Settings > Siri and here you will see action that activates Siri. Slide every option that you do not need to the Off position and control the launch of Siri with just one convenient method.
Arrange control center
Apple Watch also has a similar Control Center just like your iPhone and you may not be comfortable with the default layout, therefore change it as you please when you get the new watch. To access the Control Center on your Apple Watch, either long-press at the bottom or simply swipe up from down on the watch face. Change the arrangement by selecting the Edit option at the bottom.
The option will start to jiggle with a red minus on the top right as you see in your iPhone, you can simply drag them up and down or cancel it by tapping on the red minus. when you are done setting up the layout, tap on Done to save changes.
